Tobacco use is costly. It costs individuals in their health and finances. It costs their employers in lost productivity and medical expenses. And it costs our families and our communities in lives cut short.
Although the majority of current tobacco users want to quit, quitting tobacco can be very difficult. To help individuals’ chances of quitting successfully, an effective, engaging, and supportive tobacco cessation program can be very helpful.
This project exists to help make that possible by making a leading tobacco cessation program available to small businesses throughout Illinois.
The Be A Quitter project – a collaborative effort between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and University of Illinois Extension – will allow Illinois businesses the opportunity to provide their employees a leading tobacco cessation program, all at no or reduced cost to the business (and no cost to the individual).
