Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC) is a university-related organization affiliated with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) established in 2009 for the conduct of research in Singapore with founding funds from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).  ADSC focuses on breakthrough innovations in information technologies supporting interactive cyber infrastructures that are expected to have a major impact in transforming human’s use of information in a data-intensive technological society.

As part of our expansion drive, we are looking for a:

Software Engineer/Senior Software Engineer
Responsibilities:

The ADSC audio team is working on the microphone-array technologies for acoustic noise source mapping, noise reduction, sound source localization, speech enhancement, acoustic event detection and classification which are the key technologies for liveable environmental noise solution, immersive telepresencing, hands-free human-machine communication, audio surveillance and remote monitoring, etc. You will work closely with the ADSC audio team for algorithm development, implementation, and testing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master Degree in Computer/Electrical & Electronic Engineering and equivalent.
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing or acoustic signal processing including speech.
  • Good understanding in array signal processing theory and techniques, especially in acoustic signals.
  • Ability to learn and use Texas Instruments DAQ data acquisition system with LabVIEW software.
  • Proficient in Matlab and C/C++.
  • Good mathematical background is preferred.
  • Knowledge of physics of sound is an additive advantage.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
