We are exited to announce that application is now open for the 2019 Girls’ Astronomy Summer Camp!
This summer camp for high school girls will be focused on hands-on astronomy projects and learning about real-life research experience as women in science.
Camp highlights include build a Mars rover with LEGO, watch 3D science movies in the NCSA visualization lab, work with scientist on real data in campus computer labs, observation sessions at the University of Illinois observatory (a historical landmark), and talk to UIUC astrophysicists about their research.
Dates & times: July 22 & 23, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. With optional night observation sessions! (Lunch is included.)
Transportation: Transportation from selected high schools to the Astronomy department is offered.
Application Deadline: June 1st, or until maximum capacity reached!!
