Summary

Project Goal:

As part of ADSC’s Interactive Digital Media (IDM) sub-program, ARISE’s ultimate goal is to provide an information service platform that provides information about real-world entities on request (such as restaurants and people) to enable augmented reality applications. As the information about a single real-world entity, such as a restaurant or a person, is usually spread across different Web sites, we are interested in finding the relevant information about entities of interest and then integrating it into a concise form for easier user consumption. Our project focuses on creating fundamental techniques that can maximize the content relevance and well integrate the content from multiple unstructured text sources. As an example application that demonstrates our approaches and connects to ADSC’s integrative projects, we are developing an online system that supports real-world entity search for academic people.

Project Output:

We published over 10 conference and journal papers on prestigious venues in database, data mining, machine learning, information retrieval, etc.

We licensed our ARISE technology to Singapore companies from different industries.

We collaborated with A*STAR, and many other local/oversea research institutes on both research and industrial projects.
