General Human Resource Information
AHS Remote Work Policy
Remote and Hybrid Work Agreement forms need to be submitted to immediate supervisor no later than thirty (30) days prior to requested remote work start date. No remote work should start prior to final Dean’s Office (AHS HR) approval. Remote work requests should be requested and approved based on job functionality, operational need, and performance/attendance only. We anticipate the not everyone who requests to work remote will be able to do so. Campus has identified positions that cannot perform their major job functions remotely. AHS HR can provide clarification or further details.
- International remote employment requests:
- Hourly employees (ac hourly/civil service/etc) cannot work internationally.
- Student employees (undergrad/grad/hourly/assistantship) cannot work internationally.
- Anyone teaching (faculty, adjuncts, etc) cannot work internationally
- All other requests will need to be directed to AHS HR. **There will be additional costs to the unit for outside council to review each countries work requirements. Approximate cost is $3,000-$5,000 per review.**
- US remote employment requests:
- Graduate Teaching Assistants cannot work out of state.
- Unit will start the request and forward to AHS HR to obtain approvals.
For proper forms and questions, please contact AHS HR for assistance.

Use Form I-9 to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. All U.S. employers must properly complete Form I-9 for each individual they hire for employment in the United States. This includes citizens and noncitizens. Both employees and employers (or authorized representatives of the employer) must complete the form.
On the form, an employee must attest to their employment authorization. The employee must also present their employer with acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorization. The employer must examine the employment eligibility and identity document(s) an employee presents to determine whether the document(s) reasonably appear to be genuine and to relate to the employee and record the document information on the Form I-9. The list of acceptable documents can be found on the last page of the form. Employers must retain Form I-9 for a designated period and make it available for inspection by authorized government officers.
