This week we will talk about Separable Differential Equations (9.3 of the textbook) on Monday, and will do a review on Wednesday. Discussion sessions on Tuesday will also deal with the review problems.

Tutoring sessions; office hours this week: usual schedule (see HowTo page) except for my hours on Tuesday 11.19: shortened to 8:30-9am, – and now Thursday 11.21 8:30-9:30 is cancelled as well.

This week we will finish discussing Parametric Curves, and talk about Polar Calculus10.3

This week we have our third, and last midterm exam. It happens on November 12, 7-8:30 pm. This time there will be several rooms: you should go to the room according to your discussion section.

Namely:
Sections EDH, EDN, EDP, EDU take test in Bevier Hall 180;
Sections EDA, EDB, EDD, EDJ, EDX take test in Material Science & Eng Bld 100;
Sections EDC, EDK, EDT, EDY take test in Mumford Hall 103 and
Sections EDF, EDG, EDL, EDM, EDO take test in Altgeld Hall 314.

Reminder: this is the second midterm week. The test is on October 15, 7-8:30pm in Foellinger Auditorium. The conflict exam (shifting to which requires a documented excuse) is on Thursday, Oct. 17, 8-9:30am,  in 141 Altgeld Hall.

The exam will cover primarily the notions, theorems and techniques of integration, through week 7, but without improper integrals (we will talk about them a bit more).…

This week  we continue exploring techniques of integration (chapters 7.3, 7.4 of the textbook), and will discuss improper integrals.

All submission should be done through gradescope, an online homework submission system.
The usual constraints apply: if your work is hard to parse, graders might miss your brilliant idea, or to misinterpret your perfectly correct solution.…

This week  we will talk about integrals (chapter 5 of the textbook).

All submission should be done through gradescope, an online homework submission system.

To use gradescope, if you haven’t done this yet

  • first register using the course code (sent to course enrollees);
  • write or type your homework, export it, scan it, or take a photo of it;
  • render the result into a printable file (jpg, png, pdf…) – if your answer to a question is more than one page, you might need to merge the pages into one file and
  • upload it.
