Do we grade the midterm by ourselves? Then where should we upload the scores? Is there a detailed policy for the midterm grading? I didn’t quite get it in class today.

The midterms will be self-graded. The solutions are posted on the midterm page (note that the solution were updated around 5:30pm today).

Logistics: you should have your work back, – if you don’t, visit me this Thursday during the office hours (or schedule an appointment).
Mark your corrections, subtracting points, in clearly visible ink (either physical or electronic), then either scan and send an email (Subject: ECE490 corrected midterm), or bring it to the class.

Rules: subtract 1/8 of the question value for arithmetic mistake; 2/3 for wrong method; 1/4 for wrong or missing (for whatever reason) answer. No work, subtract all.
If you got something wrong, write clearly what you should’ve been done instead. If you left a problem blank, produce your solution (copy-paste? no).
Circle your subtracted points and final score.

Final score: If we agree with your self-grading of a problem, you’ll have your subtracted point halved for that problem. If we disagree, we’ll grade it ourselves, and the subtraction will be in full.

Questions? Post them on the midterm page.

How are the points is correctly formulating the dual worth in problem 6? It doesn’t say on the midterm.

I made a typo and can’t edit my comment. I meant to ask:

“How many points is correctly formulating the dual worth in Problem 6? It doesn’t say on the midterm”

Worth 6 pts

For Problem 5, how many points we get if our answer contains only some parts of solution(for example, up to second or third line of uploaded solution for Problem 5)?

• yuliy April 3, 2019 at 11:55 pm #

No path forward = wrong method.

For Problem 1, how many points do we get if we draw a picture, but don’t have the function?

• yuliy April 3, 2019 at 11:56 pm #

If the picture conveys a correct idea, full credit.

What kind of work needs to be shown for Problem 2?

If it is clear why you do what you do, it is enough.
