UPDATED: Call for Proposals: Extended Deadline!

Re:Search, the Undergraduate Literary Criticism Journal at Illinois, is still seeking submissions for its Spring 2015 publication! Our Open Journal Systems portal begins accepting submissions on Wednesday, November 5th and will remain open until 5pm, Monday, November 10th

We offer an opportunity to publish your work, including papers written in other classes and honors seminars, a current thesis, or a thesis to be written next semester—both Fall and Spring thesis writers are encouraged to submit in an online academic journal, and we hope this change will accommodate the Spring thesis proposal deadline on November 10th.

Please see our Call for Proposals 2014-15 EXTENDED DEADLINE for information about our journal and submission guidelines. To find out how to get involved with other aspects of the journal, we will be hosting Peer Review workshops on November 3rd and 5th, rooms and times to be announced.

Call for Proposals

Re:Search, the Undergraduate Literary Criticism Journal at the University of Illinois, is seeking submissions for its Spring 2015 publication!

Students currently enrolled as undergraduates at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, from any discipline or major, may submit work to Re:Search that fits our vision of the journal as a site of critical analysis. We encourage students to submit literary, media, or cultural criticism. Our audience includes university students, instructors, administration, alumni, and prospective students. In addition, there are opportunities to showcase your work at the Undergraduate Research Symposium in the spring.

This journal is supported by the English Department and the Office of Undergraduate Research and is launched in collaboration with the Scholarly Commons of the University Library. The online version is open-access and can be found on the Library Catalog and Google Scholar: ugresearchjournals.illinois.edu/index.php/ujlc. A limited print run also will be produced.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please attend our Proposal Workshop at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, in room 104 in the English Building.

In addition, we are always looking for more students to join our peer review and copy-editing processes. We will be hosting workshops for these positions in the near future.

Please click here for a PDF version of the Call for Proposals  and for more information about our journal and submission guidelines. To find out how to get involved with other aspects of the journal, visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/litcritjournaluiuc and the Get Involved tab.

We hope to see you on Oct. 2! Please email us at uiuclitjournal@gmail.com with any questions.
