Arab American Success Stories

Dear members,

The Arab American Association of Engineers and Architects (AAAEA) has an upcoming event next Thursday, March 11th from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm CST. Two civil engineering speakers will share their success stories and have a conversation with the attendees and answer their questions. The invitees are Dr. Imad Al-Qadi from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at UIUC and Dr. Soliman Khudeira who is an adjunct professor at IIT and Section Chief of major projects with the Chicago DOT. You are all invited to attend!

Spring 2021: LaTeX Workshop

We are excited to kick things off in 2021!

We will be having our first workshop of the semester on February 4th. The workshop will be about LaTeX, which is a document preparation system for high-quality typesetting and often used for technical and scientific documents.

Spring 2020: 1st General Meeting

We will be having our first general meeting of the semester Monday, February 24th at 5 pm! It will be held at Newmark 2311 in the Yeh Center. We are happy to be co-hosting this meeting with the  Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).

We have invited guest speakers from T.H.E Conference 2020 supporters: AECOMLochmueller Group, and FHWA (US DOT Federal Highway Administration) to present at the meeting and talk about their experiences and recent projects in transportation engineering they have worked on!

As always, pizza and beverages will be provided.

 

Meet ‘n’ Greet series

Dr. Mark Wayne from Director of Application Technology at Tensar International is our next Kent Seminar speaker on Thursday, April, 21, 2016. He will be speaking on the “Mechanical Stabilization Of Unbound Layers And Incorporation Of Benefits In AASHTO ’93 And M-E Analysis Of Flexible Pavements“. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided at 12pm.
There will be a post-talk Meet ‘n’ Greet session with the speaker from 1:30-2:00pm.

IS-ASCE T&DI connection

A few of us were able to meet with T&DI professional members from the Illinois ASCE chapter last week at the T.H.E. conference.
