Housing and Meals

Participants are housed in the Illinois Street Residence Halls on the University of Illinois campus. Participants under the age of 18 will reside in a dorm with participants in the Illinois Summer Youth Music Program, and will be under the care of the ISYM counseling staff. Youth will share a room with one other participant, likely also in the trombone workshop. Adult participants will reside in a separate dorm, and have the option of a single or shared room. The residence halls are air-conditioned and situated close to the instructional facilities.

University dietitians and executive chefs prepare well-balanced meals that offer participants a wide variety of options including vegetarian, gluten-free and other special-needs dishes. If a participant has special dietary needs, please contact Angela Tammen (schmid4@illinois.edu) so that arrangements can be made with the University’s Dining Services staff. Meals begin with dinner on Sunday and are served through lunch on Saturday.
