High-Belt Class and Demo Team Practice on Sundays
Starting on Sunday, September 15th high-belt class for green belts and higher will begin. High-belt class is an informal 1-hour class from 11 am – 12 pm for higher belts to focus on advanced techniques. Unlike regular class, the high-belt class takes place in an available multi-purpose room in the ARC instead of the Combat Room. Later in the fall term, some of the Sundays will be used for any students interested in participating in demonstrations throughout the year.

White Belt Testing Opportunities
Starting the week of Septemeber 23rd the last 10 minutes of class for any new student that wishes to take a white belt test. The white belt test is a brief physical test that will take place at the end of a regularly scheduled class and be followed with questions. If you feel you comfortably know Chun Gi (first form), the school rules, and the Korean counting/terminology then you are ready to take the white belt test. . After new students pass the white belt test they have the opportunity to purchase a uniform for $18.
Finally, the Midwest Open Taekwondo Championships is November 23rd (first day of Fall Break) in Decatur, IL. Visit the website http://www.midwestopentkd.com for more details and RSVP on the facebook event if interested in attending.

Illini Frenzy is Saturday, August 24th from 11am-2pm and we need some volunteers for a TKD demonstration!
Please wear your uniform and list your name on the facebook poll if you are interested in participating in the demonstration during the Illini Frenzy. The specific time of the demonstration is not yet determined so specify online with a comment if you have any time constraints.
Quad Day is Sunday, August 25th from 12pm-4pm and we need more volunteers!
- 11:30am – 12:30pm (setup crew) at least 2 volunteers
- 12:30pm – 1:45pm 2-4 volunteers
- 1:30pm – 3:00pm 2-4 volunteers
- 2:45pm – 4:00pm 2-4 volunteers
Overall, your duty as a volunteer is to pass out fliers, collect email addresses and answer basic questions about our TKD club. Please wear your uniform and or TKD t-shirt if you plan to volunteer at Quad Day. If interested in volunteering just comment on the facebook group or sign-up online.
TKD Training Returns to the ARC Combat Room Soon
Our post-summer TKD training times next week will remain Monday/Wednesday at 6 PM outdoors. Starting the week of August 19th those students registered for fall classes should be able to access the ARC. So we will return to training indoors in the Combat Room in the ARC.
