First, congratulations to our newest white belts Nicholas Wutt and Shang Lin! There will be additional white belt testing opportunities for the remainder of the month.
Friday Free-Sparring
Thank you for those that have been able to join us the last couple of Fridays for free-sparring class. We will have have a free-sparring class again this Friday, October 26th at 6 PM in the Combat Room.
Saturday Class on October 27th
There will be a regular TKD class on Saturday, October 27th. Also, wish those that are traveling to Purdue for the tournament good luck and safe travels.
Save the Date Saturday, Nov 10th for White to Yellow Belt Testing
As mentioned previously in class there will be two belt testing opportunities this term (lower belt ranking on Saturday 11/10/18 prior to Fall Break and higher ranks after Fall Break on Saturday 12/08/18). If you plan to participate in the 11/10/18 color belt test email me by November 3rd so that the appropriate amount of boards and testing supplies can be ordered.
On those dates, the testing opportunities will take the place of the scheduled TKD class. All are welcome and encouraged to attend both dates in uniform to help out the test by holding targets, free-sparring, taking pictures and encouraging your fellow club members.
Fee: The belt testing fee is $10 and this can be paid in cash or electronically on the day of the test. The fee covers boards, belts, and other testing items.
Other Items: Please review the techniques for each belt rank that will be evaluated during the test on the club website: http://publish.illinois.edu/tkd-illinois/belt-ranks/. Also, everyone that is testing should review the rules sheet with the Korean terminology (click here for rules sheet) and have a favorite technique prepared. You should be able to demonstrate your favorite technique on both sides.
