Also, for those new students that are interested in taking the white belt test please either email or inform the instructor prior to class. The white belt test is a brief physical test that will take place at the end of a regularly scheduled class and be followed with questions. If you feel you comfortably know Chun Gi (first form), the school rules, and the Korean counting/terminology then you are ready to take the white belt test. You can find the school rules, definition of TKD, aims to achieve, Korean counting and terminology on our website.
Our TKD club instructors will be having white belt test opportunities on the week of September 29th. If you are unable to attend a class next week or are not ready for the test there will be other opportunities on at the end of class in mid-October. After new students pass the white belt test they have the opportunity to purchase a uniform for $18.

Below are details about a tournament opportunity in West Lafayette, IN. Please note: this is Illinois 2014 Homecoming weekend.
Date: Saturday October 25th, 2014
Location: Feature Gym, Francis Cordova Sports Recreational Center

Time: Registration Opens @ 11:00am if not done in advance
Opening ceremony will begin @ 12:00pm
Closing/Award Ceremony will end approximately around 6:30pm (depends on number of participants)
Fees: Forms and/or Sparring $20/participant
Board Breaking $15/participant
Participants may choose any form (WTF/ITF/other) to perform for our Form Competition. For the sparring competition, Purdue University does not allow any contact to the head due to an incident that happened a few years ago. All regular sparring gear must be acquired before the tournament: helmet, chest protector, forearm protector, shin guards, mouthguard, and groin cup for males. For the board breaking tournament, each participant must provide their own board holders. Each participant is allowed up to 3 boards each and no more than 2 stations. There is no restriction on the techniques participants can use to break the boards.
This tournament is a friendly-competition between colleges and universities nearby in the Midwest.
