My name is Erick Sutanto and I am originally from Indonesia. I am currently pursuing my doctoral degrees in the Mechanical Science and Engineering (MechSE) department at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (UIUC). Prior to coming to Illinois, I went to the University of Texas at Austin to earn my bachelor’s degree in the same discipline (Hookem!!).
Here at Illinois, I am working under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Alleyne and I am a part of the NanoCEMMS Research Center, a research center that addresses a central problem in the development of nanotechnology. My research work is in the intersection of controls and micro/nano-manufacturing, specifically in the development of the Electrohydrodynamic-Jet (E-Jet) Printing System. Recent advancements in E-jet printing speed and reliability transformed this technology from a research tool to a viable manufacturing process.
