Past Members

We are proud to remain connected to our past iSchool at Illinois Students of Color members who have moved on to other institutions. Many are former ALA scholarships and award winners, as well as proud graduates of the program.

 

Thomas Padilla

Thomas Padilla graduated from the GSLIS Master’s program in December 2013. He is currently the Digital Humanities Librarian at Michigan State University. His primary research interests include Digital Humanities, Digital Pedagogy, Digital Preservation, History, Data Curation, and Interdisciplinarity.

 Miguel Ruiz

Miguel Ruiz graduated from the GSLIS Master’s program in August 2013. He is currently the Resident Librarian at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His primary research interest includes diverse population outreach.

Aisha Conner-Gaten

Aisha Conner-Gaten graduated from the GSLIS Master’s program in December 2013. She is currently the Computer-Assisted Instruction Specialist at GSLIS and the staff advisor for the GSLIS Students of Color group since Spring 2014. Her primary research interests include online education for continuing and remote students and social media interactions of minority users.
