Chemistry major and minor Information meetings

Dear Academic Advisors,

Are you working with a student who is interested in declaring Chemistry Science + Letters, Specialized Chem, or Chemical Engineering as a major?  Please refer them to one of our Informational Meetings. Students must register for a spot by signing up

here at https://go.illinois.edu/scsICTminor .  These Major informational meetings will last about an hour.

LAS ICT Info Sessions: information for August

Good morning,

 

Students interested in or intending to apply for transfer from another UIUC college into LAS must first attend an LAS ICT Information Session.  Sessions have been scheduled for mid- to late August; dates, times, and locations are below.  You can also find this information on our web site (http://www.las.illinois.edu/prospective/intercollegiate/) and on the attached handy flyer.  The application period, for changes effective Fall 2015, is August 17 through September 4.

Thinking about transferring to MCB? Want to learn more about the Major or Minor?
Attend one of our informational meetings to learn about the program requirements and receive paperwork (if eligible) to officially declare MCB as your major or minor.
Seating is limited and RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Use the online form at http://go.illinois.edu/MCBInfo to reserve your spot. 
During the meeting an academic advisor will provide an overview of the MCB program, requirements, career opportunities and the criteria for declaring MCB as your major or minor.
Interested students should attend only one session.  All sessions are identical and typically last 1 hour.

Global Studies Info Sessions

LAS Global Studies has two information sessions this week—one for the Certificate in International Development Studies on Wednesday and one for our major and minor and Thursday. Please see below for details (including dates for additional information sessions this semester):

 

Announcing Information Sessions to learn about the NEW undergraduate Certificate in International Development Studies offered by LAS Global Studies

This Certificate is an interdisciplinary program of study in the social sciences focused on development theory and interventions. Students will gain fundamental skills for understanding and assessing global to local scale institutions and strategies that seek to improve human well-being in the global South.  The Certificate in International Development Studies provides students a credential that demonstrates their competency in interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary international development. Such skills are valued by a range of organizations including governmental and non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, philanthropic organizations, social enterprises, private sector firms, and educational institutions.

Interested students should attend an upcoming information session held in Global Studies Conference Room (703 S. Wright Street, 3rd Floor next to Coco Mero) to learn about the requirements of the Certificate and sign up:

 

  • Wednesday, March 4th from 2-2:30 PM
  • Tuesday, April 14th from 3-3:30 PM

What is Global Studies?

Global Studies is an interdisciplinary program of study that provides a strong foundation in the analysis of con-temporary global issues through coursework, research and experiential learning such as study abroad.
