Mindful Writer Group

All students are invited to join Mindful Writers, a new group that will meet Fridays at 3pm in EB 303, beginning February 12th. In this group, learn how to apply principles of mindfulness to your writing. Mindfulness has been defined as “the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally, to the unfolding of experience moment to moment.” This awareness can help with stress, anxiety, writer’s block, idea development, bias, concentration, memory, creativity, and attention. Also: make friends! By use of fun writing exercises, discussions, and cookies, we will learn to use writing as a tool not only for deeper inquiry into our subject, but also for seeing the world in new ways.
