Thanks to a generous grant from PetSmart Charities in January 2015, our shelter medicine program was able to obtain the mobile surgical unit pictured above (news article).

Arrival Times:

• All weekend clinics (Sa-Su) begin at 8 AM
• Weekday clinic start times vary (M-F):
  • Champaign County Humane Society: 8am
  • Coles County Animal Shelter: 9:30am
  • Danville County Humane Society: 9am
  • Douglas County Animal Control: 9am
  • Hands-4-Paws: 9 am
  • Rantoul Clinic: 8 am

Ending Time

• End times really vary depending on the amount of animals there are, so please keep that in mind. Clinics can go as late as 4:30pm so be prepared.

Things to bring with you:

• Your nametag!! (This one is very important)
• Stethoscope
• Pen
• A snack and something to drink
• A good attitude! 🙂
• If you would like to, you can bring nail clippers, bandage scissors, thermometers, etc. but these are not required.

• Head North on Lincoln
• Turn right onto Springfield Ave.
• Continue on Springfield for 3.3 miles (10 min)
• Springfield Ave will turn into Main St
• Turn right onto Bartell Rd.
• Turn left at the Animal Control Building/Stop Sign – the next building is CCHS
• Please park along the street, NOT in the parking lot.

• Head South on Lincoln
• Turn Right onto Windsor Rd.
• Turn Left onto US-45/N Dunlap St/S Neil St
• Turn Right onto Curtis Rd.
• Turn Left to Merge onto I-57 S (42 miles)
• Take Exit 190A to merge onto IL-16 E toward Charleston
• Turn Right onto 1100 E/N Co Rd 1100 E
• That road turns slight Left and becomes Co Rd 700 N
• Continue onto N Co Rd 1120 E
• The shelter will be on your left

• Turn Right onto S. Prairie St. (head North)
• Turn Right onto City Dump Rd (head East) (this road is right before the train tracks, if you go over the train tracks, you have gone too far)
• Building will be down the road on the right hand side

• If you hit Center St you have gone too far
• Destination will be on the right
• Please note that you will NOT be using the main entrance to the building. There is a parking lot on the side with an entrance to the building near this lot. Please use that entrance.
