A transit boarding island on Green Street, reconfigured Illini Union vehicle entrance and parking, all-way pedestrian crossing, and protected bicycle lanes are some of the new features to be developed by the Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (MCORE) Project starting in 2016.
The designs will be officially presented at a MCORE Project open house on Thursday, September 17 in the Alice Campbell Alumni Center from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. MCORE team members will staff informational displays for the five specific project areas and be available to answer questions.
The $35M MCORE Project will impact all modes of transportation in critical campus areas including Green Street, Armory Avenue, White Street, and Wright Street.
The University joins fellow MCORE partner agencies, including the City of Champaign, Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD), and the City of Urbana to improve mobility in the core of our community.
