Abstract Preparation


  1. Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words
  2. Title should be brief and clearly state content
  3. Presenting author must list name first
  4. List name and status only, e.g., M3, MD, DO, for each author
  5. A faculty co-author is required

The body of the abstract should be organized as follows:

For Basic Research

  • Background
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

For Clinical Case Reports

  • Introduction
  • Clinical Case Summary
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

NOTE: Diagrams, tables, and/or references should not be included in the abstract


Write for clarity and directness. Avoid the use of medical jargon or empty stock phrases. Keep in mind that grammar will be taken into consideration. Please proofread your abstract carefully.

CME Credit

Physician attendees will receive 0.75 CME credits.
