Spring Break – RST 199OTC U.S. Olympic Training Center (USOTC) in Colorado Springs

A Unique Opportunity

Have you ever wondered how world class athletes are created?

Would you like to know how an Olympic Training Center works?

Do you want the skills to manage a facility for international athletes?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then RST199OTC Olympic Training Center Operations is for you.

Students in RST 199OTC will visit the U.S. Olympic Training Center (USOTC) in Colorado Springs during spring break for a week of intensive instruction. They will live in the same dormitories as the athletes, and eat at the same training tables. During the week students will meet with leaders from the following USOTC departments:

  • Business Development
  • Sport Operations
  • USOC Alumni Relations
  • USOC Development
  • Diversity & Inclusion
  • Sport Performance
  • CSOTC Operations
  • Athlete Nutrition
  • National Office
  • Legal
  • Anti-doping

Students will also meet with athletes in training for their sport, and will work in teams on a project to help the USOTC to plan and execute a strategic goal. They will present their ideas to the USOTC leadership.

While at the USOTC, students will also be provided the following tours:

  • Ted Stevens Sports Medicine Tour
  • Archives Tour
  • Garden of the Gods

 

Total costs for this 2 credit class, which will be led by Don Hardin:  $750 + airfare

(all accommodation, food, local transportation, and instruction are covered)
