It is a unique opportunity for pre-law leaders to share their perspectives and upcoming plans and receive updates from PLAS. Forty-five members of the pre-law community are eligible to attend including representatives from each of the prelaw student organizations as well as selected At-Large representatives from the prelaw student community. Visit the PLAS website learn more and to register by February 10!
Illinois Pre-Law Day is a collaborative effort between the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the University of Illinois Chicago, and the University of Illinois Springfield pre-law advising offices. It provides a unique opportunity for pre-law students at each campus to network, learn about law school, and gain invaluable insights into the legal profession and the law admissions process. Visit the Pre-Law Day website to learn more. Applications for Pre-Law Day will open in late February.
Stay Tuned!
- Later this spring applications will open for the 25-26 Pre-Law Advisory Council!

Law Admissions Updates
During the 23-24 Application Cycle we were very proud to support a talented and successful group of students and alumni! 90% of senior applicants received offers of admission to law school last year, beginning first year at law schools across the country this past fall. We encourage you to check-out our Law School Insider series to gain insights about their first year of law school!
2024 -2025 Application Cycle
The 2024-2025 law application cycle is shaping up to be exceptionally competitive, with data currently showing an approximate 20% increase in applicants this cycle alone. This year a strong application strategy is critical for success, particularly if applying late in the application cycle (February and after). The good news – we are here to help!
- For those still planning to submit applications – be sure to schedule an advising appointment with the PLAS Office to create a unique strategy to help enhance your success! If you are still awaiting LSAT scores and have yet to submit an application, we strongly encourage you to set-up an advising appointment to develop a strategy and plan with an application expert!
- For those who have submitted applications – managing your post submission process and waiting on decisions can be daunting! Don’t worry – we have many resources available through the PLAS Canvas page to support this phase of the applications process, including on-demand webinars related to LOCIs, managing the waitlist, and considering offers. Be sure to review the PLAS Application Planner and stay connect with PLAS as well through advising appointments as you begin receiving application decisions!
Be sure to stay tuned for the annual Law School Scholarships panel in February to learn firsthand perspectives about scholarship offers and how to assess them!
