Hunger Becoming More Complex in Asia-Pacific: FAO

The FAO recently stated at a conference in Vietnam that nearly 600 million people are suffering from hunger and malnutrition in the Asia-Pacific region. Ninety-one percent of these people live in India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the Philippines. A total of 3.3 million children under the age of five die from hunger and malnutrition every year, and in order to feed the growing population, food production will need to increase by 60% annually.
