The Philippine government has guaranteed its citizens that it will not need to rely on rice imports through 2012, despite the recent hurricane. The government is relying on rice from provinces with good harvests and aims to be completely rice self-sufficient by 2013, due to the integration of proper storage facilities and technologies.
