BADM 300: The Legal Environment of Business

Course Description

BADM 300 is an introduction to law and the legal system, tort law, products liability, agency law, introduction to business organizations, introduction to government regulation, securities regulation, and antitrust law. This is an elective course for undergraduate students pursuing the business minor.

Course Goals

  • You will gain a foundational understanding of how the legal system in this country works.
  • You will gain a general understanding of the laws that effect your job, your company, your industry, and business in general.
  • You will be able to identify situations when legal issues might arise in the business world.

Time Commitment

This is a short and intensive course, lasting 8 weeks, that will cover as much as is covered in a regular semester. Given the short time we have to work in it, you will find that Summer is busier than a regular 16-week semester.
