Biography

John Beal is a first-year graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering Department and received his Bachelor’s degree from UIUC in Spring 2020. Beal’s primary research contributions investigating links among maintenance/organizational performance and plant safety and profitability. Beal has also contributed to the advancement of maintenance modelling for Nuclear Power Plants, and to developing a framework for risk-informed analysis of advanced nuclear reactors. Beal’s research is supported under a Department of Energy Nuclear Energy University Programs Graduate Fellowship.
