The 5th International Conference on Narrative Inquiry in Music Education (NIME5)

Post-Conference Updates (May 31, 2016):

Thank you to all of the presenters, participants, and support staff who made NIME5 a smashing success!

As announced during NIME5, The Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education will publish a special issue dedicated to papers related to the Narrative Soundings conference. Papers to be considered for publication will be sent for review and should be submitted electronically to the journal (bcrme.press.illinois.edu/submissions.html). The deadline for submitting to the special issue is August 1, 2016. After review, authors will have from September 15-October 15 for revision, if necessary.

Additionally we are thrilled to share that Boston University will host NIME6 in 2018!   We look forward to seeing you there and continuing the work.

 

Conference Information

The 5th International Conference on Narrative Inquiry in Music Education (NIME5) was held from May 21 – 23, 2016 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

This event represented an important continuation of ongoing work in the field of music education research and created the opportunity for narrative scholars from around the world to convene and share their work and common interests. Previous iterations of NIME began at Arizona State University in 2006 and 2008. The conference then moved to the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia in 2010 and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland in 2012.
