Michael grew up in Austin, TX until his family moved to Korea. He spent some of his adolescence in Pasadena, CA, but mostly in Seoul, Korea where he graduated from Yonsei University. He had a brief stint at IBM as an IT consultant before coming to Evanston for his graduate studies in 2004.
In the summer of 2006, the Lim’s had their first child, Chloe Haejoo Lim. This energetic young lady, aka “the Chloster,” immediately took over the house. In the early 2010, they added another member in Claire Haeyoon Lim.
Michael is a huge fan of baseball, baseball stats and college football. One of the reasons why he enjoys baseball so much is that it is a yearlong spectator sport; when the regular season ends then hot stove season begins, and the off-season moves, rumors, and speculations can be as exciting as watching the actual games (especially if you are a Cubs fan… UPDATE: Cubs won it all in 2016!!).
When not tethered to his laptop (doing research!!), he enjoys spending time with his family doing
outdoor activities. They are currently residing in southwest Champaign enjoying peaceful suburban lifestyle.
