School of MCB Ceremony Ticket Lottery

Good News!  We have enough tickets remaining to offer each registrant for the School of MCB Ceremony up to an additional 2 tickets and to allow you to enter a lottery for even more tickets. If you would like to receive 1 or 2 tickets, in addition to what you requested when you originally registered, please fill out this form prior to 12:00 PM (noon) on Wednesday, May 9.  If tickets remain after we provide everyone with an additional 1 or 2, then we will use this form to hold a lottery for any remaining tickets.  We will send email confirmations with your total number of tickets by Thursday, May 10 at 5:00 PM. Please watch your email carefully for ticket information.

Please only request additional tickets if you need them for your guests. Tickets cannot be sold under any circumstance. These are being offered to you free of charge, and we appreciate your help in keeping this process fair.

All undergraduates will be asked to take the Illini Success Survey prior to picking up tickets. You should have received an email on April 18 with the subject “Class of May 2018 – What’s next after graduation?”. The email contained your individual link to the survey. If you didn’t receive the email, you can check your account status, or create your own survey account, using this general link.

Information for Pending Graduates Attending the School of MCB Convocation Ceremony

ADDITIONAL TICKETS

Good News!  We have enough tickets remaining to offer each registrant for the School of MCB Ceremony an additional 1 or 2 tickets.  If you would like to receive 1 or 2 tickets in addition to what you’ve already requested, please fill out this form prior to 10:00 PM on Thursday, May 4.  We will send email confirmations for your total number of tickets by Friday, May 5 at 5:00 PM. Tickets will be available for pick up at a time and place to be announced after Monday May 8. Please watch your email carefully.

PICKING UP ACADEMIC ATTIRE

Academic attire will be distributed in the ARC, Gym 1 at the following times:

Date Time
Wednesday, May 10 11 AM to 6 PM
Thursday, May 11 11 AM to 6 PM
Friday, May 12 11 AM to 6 PM
Saturday, May 13 7:30 AM to 11 AM
Sunday, May 14 7:30 AM to 10 AM

Rental fees must be paid in full by cash or check, made payable to Herff Jones, when you pick up the apparel. Payment cannot be made in advance, unless you chose the ship-to-home option.

You are strongly advised to pick up your academic attire before Saturday, May 13. Please be aware that your gown will be folded and may require steaming (do not iron).

You should present your receipt when picking up your academic attire. Bronze Tablet students may request their cord at this time, if they did not attend the Bronze Tablet reception in early May. The cord should be worn over your left shoulder.

If you cannot pick up your academic attire at one of the scheduled times, you may arrange for someone else to do so; that person should present your receipt and must pay the rental fee. Rental fees must be paid in full by cash or check only. Checks should be made payable to Herff Jones and have your name, address and phone number printed on the check.

Attention Students Graduating in May or August 2017

Please see instructions relating to ceremonies below. Registration and tickets are separate for each ceremony you attend.

MCB CONVOCATION:

If you are planning to participate in the MCB Convocation Ceremony, please complete the Registration Form by April 5, 2017. Please enter your information carefully as it will be used to create a printed program for this event.

When you register for the MCB Convocation, you will have the opportunity to request tickets. Due to space limitations, undergraduate students will initially be allowed a maximum of 4 tickets each. M.S. and Ph.D. candidates will be allowed a maximum of 6 tickets each. There may be a small number of additional tickets that will be distributed via student lottery (2 maximum per student drawn) in late April or early May.

Note: There is no guarantee that extra tickets will be available, so please plan with this in mind.

We will be videotaping the ceremony and streaming it live via our website. Guests who are unable to secure a ticket should be able to watch the ceremony online.

Special Note: Sale of MCB Convocation tickets to anyone for any reason is prohibited. Any student attempting to sell tickets will have their tickets revoked and university disciplinary action will be taken. Thank you for helping us to keep this process fair to all of our graduates.

CAMPUSWIDE COMMENCEMENT:

If you are planning  to participate in the campuswide Commencement, please follow these instructions as indicated on http://commencement.illinois.edu/students/instructions.html:

  1. Order academic attire – a mortar board, gown, and in the case of a graduate degree, a hood. Order here: http://commencement.illinois.edu/students/academic_attire.html
  2. Register between March 1 and April 30 at https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/7408857 for the campuswide Commencement ceremony and indicate you plan to participate when ordering academic attire online.

Attention undergraduates intending to graduate in May 2017: Please be sure to run a DARS audit and make sure that it reads as follows, “ALL REQUIREMENTS COMPLETE USING IN PROGRESS COURSES“. If you applied to graduate through Enterprise, it will also indicate “THIS STUDENT IS ON THE SPRING DEGREE LIST“. If your DARS audit does not show these two things and you intend to complete your degree requirements in May, please contact your ARO in the college office ASAP and/or see and MCB advisor.

Important Information: Tickets for the MCB Convocation Ceremony

Tickets for the MCB Convocation Ceremony on May 15, 2016 will be available beginning Wednesday, May 4 at 9:00 AM. Please read below for times and locations of pick up.
 
B.S. students:
 
Room 252 Davenport Hall, Wednesday, May 4 through Friday, May 13 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A photo ID is required to pick up your tickets. Only registered graduates are allowed to pick up tickets unless a proxy has been assigned and approved by Tina Knox.
 
All undergraduates will be asked to take the MCB Graduate Survey prior to picking up tickets. At the completion of the survey you will get a confirmation certificate. Please print or save a screen shot of this certificate and bring it to Room 252 Davenport in order to pick up your tickets. At this time each graduate will be given the number of tickets requested on their original registration form, up to 5 maximum.
 
Tickets not picked up by May 11 will be offered to other graduates unless prior arrangements are made with Tina Knox for alternate pick up. Graduates who are out of town should contact Tina to make alternate arrangements.
 
Ph.D. and M.S. students:
 
Room B103 CLSL, Wednesday, May 4 through Friday, May 13 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A photo ID is required to pick up your tickets. Only registered graduates are allowed to pick up tickets unless a proxy has been assigned and approved by Tina Knox.
 
Tickets not picked up by May 11 will be offered to other graduates unless prior arrangements are made with Tina Knox for alternate pick up. Graduates who are out of town should contact Tina to make alternate arrangements.
 
Additional Tickets:
 
If there are extra tickets available for the ceremony, we will do a random lottery to choose students who will receive up to 2 additional tickets. Please watch your email closely for lottery information. Note there is no guarantee that extra tickets will be available.
