Poetry Center Digital Archive

We’ve learned of a great new resource for anyone interested in 20th-century poetry. San Francisco State University’s Poetry Center has made available a Digital Archive of poetry readings by a number of important writers.

More information on the project is available at its “About” page. Of particular interest might be the 1950s collection, centered around readings from poets of the “San Francisco Renaissance.” The audio files are accompanied by detailed summaries of their contents.

The full archive includes readings from Allen Ginsberg, Louis Zukofsky, Muriel Rukeyser, Marianne Moore, Jack Spicer, William Carlos Williams, and a number of others. More readings will be made available over time, and we’re excited to see where this project goes!
