University Library Selected for Engaged Unit Program

The University Library was one of six colleges and schools selected to participate in the Engaged Unit Program (EUP). This program was created in Fall of 2022 by The Office of the Chancellor for Public Engagement. The University Library is one of the first cohorts of awardees for the project, which aims to further the integration of public engagement into the units’ research and teaching activities that address post-COVID issues.

Sara Benson Named Fellow and Representative

Copyright Librarian, Sara Benson, of the Scholarly Communications and Publishing Unit at the University Library, was recently named Senior Policy Advisor for the American Library Association (ALA) Public Policy and Advocacy Fellow. Benson has also been named the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) Representative to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR).

JJ Pionke Receives Grant Through Campus Research Board

Applied Heath Sciences Librarian and Assistant Professor JJ Pionke of the Social Sciences, Health, and Education Library, has been awarded a $20,805 grant from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Campus Research Board. This grant is for the collection and documentation of oral histories from presidents of the Association of Specialized Government and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASGCLA).
