Kelli Trei, Biosciences Librarian and Associate Professor, has been elected Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee for the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL). Trei was elected by members of BHL Members’ Council, which is comprised of representatives from BHL’s Member institutions.
Upon being elected Vice-Chair, Trei had the following remarks:
“I am grateful to be elected to serve another term as Vice-Chair of the BHL Executive Committee. I am deeply committed to the work of the BHL in democratizing scientific information, literature, and data and making it available to users the world over. I am excited to help further the data missions of the BHL including contributing to funding opportunities that expand the technological capabilities of the BHL platform to further the mission of the BHL: ‘Inspiring discovery through free access to biodiversity knowledge’. Additionally, this work helps fulfill the mission at Illinois to foster innovation through global initiatives that serve society, especially in the endeavors to combat the effects of climate change.”
