Awards and recognitions of University Library faculty and staff

The University of Illinois Library strives for excellence, and this excellence is exemplified by our faculty, staff, and in the services that they provide.  Recognition of their dedication took many forms in 2011-12.  Many of the University Library faculty were elected to leadership positions, received awards and honors from associations and colleagues, or were invited lecturers.  Here is a brief listing of some of these accomplishments.Adriana Cuervo, Assistant Archivist Music and Fine Arts and Assistant Professor of Library Administration

Jenny Johnson, Associate Professor of Library Administration and Map and Geography Librarian
– Elected Treasurer, North American Cartographic Information Society

Paula T. Kaufman, Dean of Libraries, University Librarian, and Professor of Library Administration
– Holds the endowed position of Juanita J. and Robert E. Simpson University Library Deanship
– Named the 2012 Association of College and Research Libraries’  Academic/Research Librarian of the Year
– Named as the Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year for 2011 by the Illinois Association of College and Research Libraries

Lori Mestre, Head of Undergraduate Library and Associate Professor of Library Administration

The Mortenson Center for International Library Programs
– Awarded the 2011 Champaign-Urbana International Humanitarian Award for its efforts to facilitate international cooperation through research and education

Lynne Rudasill, Associate Professor of Library Administration and Global Studies Librarian
– Elected Member, International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions Governing Board, Division One Chair

Susan Searing, Associate Professor of Library Administration and Library and Information Science Librarain
– Awarded Best Conference Paper at the 2011 Conference of the Association for Library and Information Science Education

Ellen Swain, Archivist for Student Life and Culture and Associate Professor of Library Administration
– Holds the endowed professorship, Stewart S. Howe Archivist of Student Life and Culture as an Endowed Professor
– Elected President, Midwest Archives Conference

Jennifer Hain Teper — Head of Conservation and Preservation and Associate Professor of Library Administration
