Career Development workshops are designed to help LAS undergraduates develop career readiness competencies as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Questions about the Career Development Workshops may be directed to the LAS Director of Career Development (TBA).


How to Sell Your LAS Degree at Career Fairs
Did you know that the Business Career Fair (September 19 & 20 at the ARC) is open to students in the College of LAS? Did you know career fairs also promote internships for underclassmen as well as jobs for graduating seniors? This workshop will help LAS students better understand how to prepare to get the most out of the Business Career Fair, along with other fairs offered throughout the semester. This workshop is for undergraduates in the College of LAS.

How to Sell Your LAS Degree at Career Fairs
LAS students looking for an internship, full time job, or just wanting to better understand how a fair can be used as a career exploration tool are invited to attend this workshop assist with preparing for the Illini Career & Internship Fair (October 19 at the Illini Union). The workshop will cover opportunities available at the fair, how to prepare in advance for the fair, what to expect the day of the fair, and what to do after the fair is over to maximize the experience. This workshop is for undergraduates in the College of LAS.

Have you thought about attending the LAS in CU Internship Fair, but you aren’t sure what to expect or how to make the event work for you? At this workshop, you will learn networking skills, so that you can meet potential employers, learn more about internship opportunities, and position yourself to be hired. NACE competencies covered: career management; professionalism; oral/written communications. This workshop is for undergraduates in the College of LAS.

Internships can help you explore potential careers, gain skills, and add experience to your resume. If you are uncertain about how an internship can fit with your major, or if you’re not sure how to go about getting one, join us for this workshop. You’ll learn about how to identify the right internship opportunities for you and how to apply. You’ll also learn some strategies for connecting with potential internship employers at the LAS in CU Internship Fair.NACE competencies covered: career management; professionalism; oral/written communications. This workshop is for undergraduates in the College of LAS.
