TAG Volunteers!

It’s been awhile since our last blog post so I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the semester that is quickly coming to an end! Time flies!

I wanted to give all you TAG members a little update of what has been going on with our involvement at Thomas Paine Elementary School. In addition to all of the lovely volunteers who spend some time at the school throughout the week, we did have some members volunteer at a carnival held at the school.

On Friday March 22nd, a group of TAG members volunteered for a couple of hours at the carnival. Our volunteers had a blast helping out with games and activities for the kids which was a huge hit with both TAG members and the students! Both the week before AND the week after I had students I work with talking about how much fun they were going to have/had at the carnival!

Sam was kind enough to pass along a word from the principal of the school who wished to thanks those who volunteered as well as those who dedicate their time during the week! Our organization is one she hopes to continue to be able to work with!

TAG Update!



I hope this post finds you well and managing your midterms!  I know that it’s an extremely busy time of year, but I wanted to let you know of some updates happening in the LAS Transfer Advisory Group!

First, our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 24th at 5:30pm in 1090 Lincoln Hall.  We hope to see you there!  We’ll have updates from the committees and be talking about moving forward in the Mentor Program for Spring 2013

Second, we have another Brown Bag Lunch Series program happening that same day, October 24th at Noon.  The Study Abroad Office will be at the program talking about how to study abroad as a transfer student.  Here’s the RSVP Link: Brown Bag Lunch RSVP

Third, the “Shared Governance” sub-committee of TAG has developed a survey that they would love transfer students to fill out.  Here’s the link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8NRYBGK

Best for last, the Mentor Program Leadership Sub-Committee is putting on a Halloween Party!  It will be Thursday October 25th at 6pm in 160 English Building.  Here is the flyer: TAG Halloween Party
