Hopefully everyone got to eat some delicious food and has many things to be thankful for today, because school will be back in session before you know it! This means a week or two left of classes before…FINALS! Our best advice to transfer students is to catch up on your studies (or even work ahead!) because these last few weeks go by quickly. Our upcoming blogs will cover the dreaded finals week, useful phone apps, and how we travel on campus during the cold weather. Check back soon to get the know-how from fellow transfer students! In the meantime, enjoy your break and have a happy Thanksgiving!

As the spring semester draws to a close for current transfer students, a few of us are getting ready to welcome some new additions to our LAS family. Each semester LAS hosts Admitted Transfer Student Days which allow admitted transfer students a day to learn more about their intended major, the campus, and meet some current students.
I am very glad I attended my own Admitted Transfer Student Day, because it allowed me to meet many of the people who would be helping me throughout the following semesters at UIUC. I also met some really amazing students who were very helpful and eased my transition from a community college to a Big 10 university. Many of us at TAG volunteered to help students register for their first classes to do just that. TAG members just want to make sure that your transition goes as smoothly as possible so that you are successful in your endeavors here. It’s a great opportunity to meet a variety of people on campus.
I hope to see you there!
Here’s an event that new transfers should try and take advantage of! Even if you’ve been here for a few semesters, you should check this out! Tours of Memorial Stadium are being held tomorrow, April 24, 2013! The first tour is at 11 AM and the second tour is at 1 PM. Each tour should last about an hour. Come see behind the scenes of the Fighting Illini’s field!
If you are interested, please meet by the Grange statue on the West side of Memorial Stadium (which is the side facing First St.) at least 5-10 minutes before your tour begins.
Parking will be available in Lot 38 also called the “Blue Lot”, which is the “Northeast Quad” lot of Assembly Hall. This lost is accessible from 4th St. and is located on 4th and Kirby.
