Welcome to SP14!


I hope you are all surviving the Polar Vortex!  TAG is excited about starting the SP14 semester, and we want to welcome all the new transfers to our college!

Our first TAG Meeting will be Tuesday, January 28th at 6pm in 1028 Lincoln Hall.

Please come to learn more about TAG, re-connect with others, and learn about leadership opportunities in the group.

TAG Committees!

We had a great turnout for our first TAG meeting of the semester a few weeks ago, and we’re hoping to keep up the enthusiasm!  We have some TAG committees getting started for the year, and we hope that you join!  There are also leadership positions available in each committee, so if you’re interested, please apply and attend the meeting.

Here is information on the upcoming committee meetings:

Marketing Committee:  Thursday September 19th at 6pm in Lincoln Hall Room 1020 – contact is Kenny Matthews at kamatth2@illinois.edu (Leadership position available:  Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary) To apply, please email Kenny your resume and answer the questions below.

Transfer Leadership Committee:  Thursday, Sept 19th at 5pm in the Lincoln Hall Room 1020 – contact is Lauren Gay at legay2@illinois.edu (Leadership position available:  Secretary). To apply, please email or bring a small writing sample to Lauren. Please answer the questions below as well.

Program Planning Committee:  Tuesday, Sept 17th at 6pm in the Courtyard Cafe at Illini Union.  Email Whitney at baldrdg2@illinois.edu if you are interested to join this committee and position.  (Leadership position available:  Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary). To apply, please answer the questions below.

If you are interested in serving in a leadership role on these committees, here’s what you can do:

All applicants must respond to the following questions:
1.  What position are you applying for, and why are you interested in this position?
2. What is your leadership experience background?  How do you see this experience helping you in the position you’re applying for?
3. Do you feel you will be able to meet the demands of the position, and what do you see yourself contributing to the committee and TAG as a whole?
The deadline for all submissions is Thursday 9/19 at 8:00 PM.

A new semester!


The Fall 2013 semester has started and TAG would like to welcome the new LAS transfers to our college, and welcome our returners back to campus!

We had an excellent new LAS Transfer Welcome and Orientation last Friday, August 23rd.

We will also be having a TAG Kick-Off event tomorrow, Friday, August 30th at 5pm in the Illini Grove.  If you did not get a chance to RSVP, that is fine, you can just show up!  We’ll have burgers, hot dogs, refreshments, as well as games and prizes!

Some new additions to this site are the pages for General Meetings and the 2013 Fall Mentors.  All general meetings are set for the semester, so please check-out the tab above and add them to your calendar.  Our first meeting will be next Tuesday, so we hope to see you there!

If you are a new transfer student, and would like to talk to a continuing LAS student who was also a transfer student at one time, please check out the Mentors tab above and feel free to email a mentor with your questions.  They are here to help!
