Kai volunteered to give a lecture on acids and bases to second graders in Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley. Purple cabbage water is a nice acid/base indicator. Great fun!

The Zhang laboratory taught the neurobiology module in the 2017 Center for Physics of Living Cell (CPLC) summer school. We hosted one undergraduate and five graduate students from six different institutions (Rice Univ., Univ. of Texas at Austin, University of Maryland, College Park, Emory University, Georgia Tech Univ, and LMU-Munich, Germany) [Link].

Kai and Savanna taught how cells work for a group of 3-6 graders in the STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) studio in the Next Generation Elementary-Middle School. We had great fun with a super-motivated audience.

Kai served as a Judge for the first annual East Central Illinois American Chemical Society Undergraduate Research Conference held at UIUC. Good work undergraduates!
