We will be offering professional classes at three levels this semester: Newcomer, Bronze and Silver. Classes will begin on Sunday, February 9, 2025. No dance experience or partner required to attend coach led classes.

Class Structure
Newcomer (Beginner Level)
Coach-led Class: Sunday, 7pm – 8pm
Student-led Class: Tuesday, 7pm – 8pm
Practice: Thursday, 7pm – 10pm
The Newcomer class is for those with little to no previous dance experience. The dances taught in this course include Waltz, Tango, and Quickstep (Standard) and Rumba, Cha Cha, and Jive (Latin). It is recommended that team members take at least two semesters of Newcomer classes (with the second semester being taken simultaneously with the Bronze class).
Bronze (Intermediate Level)
Coach-led Class: Sunday, 8pm – 9pm
Student-led Class: Tuesday, 8pm – 9pm
Practice: Thursday, 7pm – 10pm
This class is intended for those who have already taken two semesters of the Newcomer level (or equivalent). Basic Newcomer figures/footwork will not be covered at this level. The dances taught in this course include Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, and Foxtrot (Standard); Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, and Samba (Latin).
Silver (Intermediate Level)
Coach-led Class: Sunday, 9pm – 10pm
Student-led Class: Tuesday, 9pm – 10pm
Practice: Thursday, 7pm – 10pm
This class is intended for more experienced dancers and will cover Silver-level figures and technique. The dances taught in this course include Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, and Foxtrot (Standard); Rumba, Cha Cha, Jive, and Samba (Latin).

Pricing and Payment Due
Each level has 1 hour of classes taught by professional instructors every Sunday for 10 weeks. You will also have access to student-led lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays, reviews of coach-class content, and practice space.
There are two payment plans to choose from:
- Semester-Based (best per class rate)
Number of Levels Base Rates 1 $100/semester (avg: $10/class) 2 $120/semester (avg: $6/class) 3 $140/semester (avg: $4.67/class) - Drop-in: $15/class + one-time $25.00 general fee
General Fee
The executive board has approved a general fee of $25.00 for the spring 2025 semester. If you pay for professional lessons via the Semester-Based payment plan, the general fee is included in your lump sum payment. If you select the drop in rates, the general fee is due the class following your first free professional class.
Payment Methods
Zelle, check, or cash are the preferred payment methods as there are no transaction fees. Please send Zelle payments to ‘Illini Dancesport Team’ or search on Zelle for the ‘illinidance@gmail.com’ email. Checks can be made out to ‘Illini Dancesport Team’ with the memo ‘Spring 2025 Class Registration’. If paying via check or cash, please bring payment to the lesson and submit to a member of the Executive Board.
Venmo and Paypal are also acceptable methods of payment but you are responsible for paying the associated transaction fees. Please send payment to ‘@illinidance’ with the memo ‘Spring 2025 Class Registration’.
Semester-based payment is due in lump sum on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Drop-in payment needs to be made before each class.
Switching Plans from Drop-In to Semester-Based
At any point in the semester, you may switch your drop-in payment plan to the semester-based payment plan and the Treasurer will credit previous per class payments to the semester-based rate of your choice. If the per class credit is less than or equal to the semester-based rate, the difference is due the following Sunday. If the per class credit is greater than the semester-based rate of your choice, Illini Dancesport is unable to refund the difference.
