The IFLA Section on Education and Training (SET) and the Section on Library Theory and Research (LTR) are holding a satellite meeting prior to the World Library and Information Congress in Columbus, Ohio, with the support of the Association for Library and Information Science Education (ALISE), OCLC, the University of Illinois LIbrary at Urbana-Champaign, the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs, and the University of Illinois iSchool. The goal is to explore the feasibility of establishing an international means of assessing the quality of Higher Education educational programs for initial and continuing professional development of library and other information professionals.
