Biography
I am Mazharul Islam and currently a Doctoral candidate at Mechanical Science and Engineering Department in University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign working in Human Dynamics & Controls Lab. Currently, I, under supervision of Prof Hsiao-Wecksler, am working on developing the control system for human assistive robotic device (Pneumatically Powered Ankle-Foot Orthosis (PPAFO)). We are using pneumatically powered system to assist an individual with lower limb impairment (i.e. person, with neuromuscular injuries, and with difficulties on ankle joint which constraint them to walk properly (patient of stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson disease etc ).
Projects
- Designing a controller for PPAFO
- Improving mode recognition controller for PPAFO
- Designing the stroke seated rehabilitation systems
- Sensitivity analysis for ankle torque of AFO and different actuation time of the controller for healthy and impaired subjects
