Grand Challenge Learning Courses for Spring 2017

GCL 125e: The Science and Business of Cancer Therapies (Life Sciences), in which students will interactive projects connecting their own interests to cancer research and treatments.
GCL 126a: Humans and Animals (Social Sciences), in which students will visit local farms and animal shelters to explore how humans use animals for food and companionship.
GCL 128a: Food, Water, Energy (Literature & and the Arts), in which students relate their own sustainability practices to literature by touring water treatment facilities and sourcing ingredients for a meal.
GCL 144: Stereotypes, Prejudice, and Discrimination (Behavioral Science), in which students will learn how biases shape human behavior by touring psychology labs and designing experiments
GCL 147b: Race and the City, (Social Science and US Minority Cultures), in which students work with local neighborhood residents to map their experiences of segregation and inequality.
