Each MF3 Fellow is required to complete one semester of a teaching assistantship (TA) either during the fall or spring term. The assistantship must be at least at 25% appointment rate. Fellows must complete the Mavis TA Assignment Form after the completion of their TA appointment. This form is due by the last day of class for the semester. During the TA appointment, fellows should be participating in at least the following activities:
• Help prepare a lecture.
• Run a discussion or give one lecture in the regular class.
• Hold office hours to assist students with their questions.
• Help prepare homework and exam questions.
The TA appointment should not just be grading! The goal is to help fellows learn the different aspects of teaching and to practice what they are learning in the MF3 academy.
