Mavis Mentoring

Mavis Faculty Mentor

All Mavis Fellows will secure a faculty mentor to meet with on a regular basis throughout the year. The faculty mentor is another resource to seek advice when completing the requirements of this program. Fellows must complete the Mavis Faculty Mentor Form by September 15.  Both mentors will be a great resource in helping fellows build their academic portfolio and skills.

Mavis Mentoring Assignment

MF3 Fellows must mentor a less experienced graduate or undergraduate student for at least one semester.  Fellows should identify their mentee within the first two weeks of either fall or spring semester and develop goals (expectations) and identify how often to meet during the semester.  Fellows who are participating in other mentoring programs (MUSE, PUREE, I-SURS, etc.) can use this experience as their Mavis Mentoring experience as well.

Mavis Required Mentor Workshop

MF3 Fellows will participate in the Graduate College’s Mentor Workshop, which is a series of three workshops.  This training will give Mavis Fellows the skills to be a more effective mentor.
