Importance of Diversity Symposium

The symposium will include a Keynote from Dr. Monique Head from Morgan State, a panel of industry and university representatives that will address an inclusive workplace, a workshop on Diversity in Motion: Interactive Knowledge Exchange, concluding with Personal Reflections on Diversity and Networking.

Attendees will learn about mental health, hearing health, sexual and reproductive health services provided by McKinley Health Center. Representatives from McKinley will explain how and where to access these services which are available at no extra cost to students.

GSAC / GSO Happy Hour

The GSAC/GSO Happy Hour is a relaxed evening of nibbles and drinks at the Blind Pig Bar (not the brewery) on February 16 from 5-7 PM for all active members of Graduate Student Advisory Committees and Organizations in the College of Engineering. The evening provides an opportunity for the different groups to get together and discuss potential interdisciplinary events and share leadership advice.

Transition from Undergrad to Graduate Programs Workshop

Are you interested in applying to graduate school in the future? Have you already applied or are you already in graduate school? EGSAC is offering a workshop for all levels of engineering undergraduates that cover a wide array of topics, from getting started in research as an undergrad, to grad school application process, choosing the right grad school and adviser, time management to discussions on career opportunities after grad school. This workshop will provide students with the unique opportunity to directly interact with current Illinois engineering graduate students in an informal and friendly atmosphere. This event is planned entirely by the EGSAC subcommittee (all graduate students) for other students!
IEEE Workshop: How to Publish a Paper

Join EGSAC and IEEE for an overview on how to publish a paper in a scholarly peer-reviewed journal. Learn how to select an appropriate periodical, how to structure your work, how to avoid common mistakes, and strategies for using IEEE Xplore for a literature review.
