Verdell Frazier Young Scholarship:

The Verdell Frazier Young Scholarship was established to assist womxn who have experienced an interruption in pursuing a college degree (undergraduate or graduate). Awards are available for Fall, Spring, and Summer. Priority consideration will be given to applications submitted by Sunday, December 13th at Midnight CST.

Life + Career Design scholarship Application Open:

Life + Career Design scholarships support students’ experiences in professional work with the goal of advancing their career readiness. The scholarships support students’ living and/or other expenses related to engaging in an unpaid or underpaid internship, undergraduate research experience, extended volunteer experience, or possibly even a part-time job. Read the web page for all of the qualifications and details. Priority deadline is Sunday, December 20.

International Women’s Day Photography Contest:

March 8th is International Women’s Day! As part of the annual celebration events, including Women’s History Month throughout March, the Women’s Resources Center, OIIR-International Education and International Student and Scholar Services are hosting the 2nd annual photography contest. The top awards will be given during the Global Engagement Lounge on March 10, 2021. Share your talent and submit an original photo that celebrates women’s achievements, experience, and resilience! Deadline for submissions: February 24, 2021.

Virtual International Internships and Research Opportunities Available for Spring:

LAS International Programs is offering virtual opportunities for students to engage in global learning this spring. These opportunities include internationally focused research projects, internships with international organizations, and online global courses. Visit the Virtual Global Experiences website and schedule an appointment with an LAS International Programs advisor to learn more.

Skill Tracks Offered by ATLAS Internship Program:

LAS students interested in furthering their technical skills can sign up here for a staff curated Skills Track. ATLAS staff is available to assist and guide students through the track. A student who successfully completes a Skills Track will be invited to interview for an ATLAS internship. Applications open Monday, Dec. 14; skills tracks begin Monday, Dec. 21.

Undergraduate Research Symposium:

The Office of Undergraduate Research is now accepting submissions for the 2021 Virtual Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS), set to be on display April 26 – 30, 2021. Over the course of the week, students will present their work through poster presentations, oral presentations, and creative showcases, the breadth and scope of which reflect not only the wide range of academic disciplines at the University of Illinois, but also speak to the excellence of its undergraduate scholars.

Join COVID-Corps During Spring 2021:

Earn credit in LAS 199 (CRN49129) while you help address unique challenges posed by the virus, both locally and globally. You do not have to be on campus to participate in our course.
