Salt Lake

The Great Salt Lake of Utah

White beach, water & distant mountains

A beach of halite (salt)

Students on a field trip head for a swim in the Great Salt Lake. This lake is much saltier than the ocean – you cannot sink even if you try! The only creatures that live there are brine shrimp. South Antelope Island rises in the background.
