Mission Statement

The Grad Academic Council (GAC) was formed in Fall 2009 to enhance student input concerning the CS graduate programs. The council members have been appointed by the research area chairs based on their previous leadership skills demonstrated within their area, their academic performance, and their willingness to volunteer. Council members will also be suggested by existing council members for subsequent years. The rewards of serving on the GAC are to enhance leadership skills, help shape the academic activities and the direction of the CS graduate programs, and establish life-long networks. The GAC has at least one graduate representative from each major research area to ensure that voices are heard from all areas.
