Geology can be defined as the science compromising the study of solid earth, the rocks that it is composed of and the processes by which it changes. In the modern world we use geology to locate certain types of minerals and gather fossil fuels such as coal, oil, gold, iron and aluminum. Many individuals have created the methods we use today to study geology. One of those individuals is Charles Darwin and his voyage on the ship HMS Beagle.
