Lila Ann Dodge is currently a second-year PhD student in sociocultural anthropology. Researching culture industries spanning West Africa and Western Europe, Lila attends to the production and negotiation of value through practices of embodiment and representation, with specific regard to women professionalizing in contemporary dance in Burkina Faso. She is pursuing specialization in Linguistic Anthropology, the Graduate Minor in Gender and Women’s Studies, and is thrilled to begin her third year studying Arabic under a Center for Global Studies FLAS Fellowship.
